Natural Resources in Nigeria:
Nigeria is one of the well endowed countries of the world in terms of natural resources. The country is blessed with resources such as oil, natural gas, tin, iron ore, timber and so on. And all these have been researched to exist in good commercial quantities. However, oil and its derivatives are the most explored, and this sector accounted for 37% of the country's GDP in 2006. It is belived that that a lot more investment is needed in this sector especially to curtail gas flaring and make gas readily availabler for commercial and household use. The country is also blessed with a vast expanse of arable land good for growing different kind of crop slike groundnuts, cocoa, cashew, oil-palm etc. Infact, agriculture used to be the mainstay of the economy before the advent of oil.
