Fuel Subsidy Removal - Nigerians Say NoNigerians up and down the country cannnot be more unequivocal in condemning the New Year fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government. They know and fear how this callous decision of President Joinathan will negatively impact on every aspect of their lives. Every struggling Nigerian knows that the multiplier effect of this action will be far reaching. Nigerians cannot fathom how a government that promised them better living less than one year ago can be bringing them misery. And this is why accusing fingers are pointing (rightly so) in the direction of the Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Okonjo-Iweala as the coordinating minister for the Nigerian economy and the immediate past managing director of the World Bank must have been very influential in taking this ignoble action. Nigerians see her as pandering to the IMF. With benefits of hindsight, Nigerians now know why she resigned the plump world bank job with such a rapidity. Less for the love of her country, more for the love of her masters. Mrs Okonjo-Iweala has little or no stakes in Nigeria. She doesnt live in Nigeria, she doesnt know how Nigerians feel. She will not stay in Nigeria at the end this administration. President Jonathan might as well surrender the economy to a foreigner. Follow this thread - Add your comment |
